WASHINGTON — The Senate on Thursday unanimously agreed to hang a plaque honoring the officers who protected the Capitol when it was under attack by a pro-Trump mob on Jan. 6 five years ago.
The Senate agreed Thursday to display a plaque recognizing the police officers who defended the Capitol during the riots on Jan. 6, 2021, a step forward in a yearslong stalemate over a law that required Congress to hang up the plaque by March 2023.
While the three-year extension for Affordable Care Act subsidies is expected to pass the House, it may not go far in the Senate. But a bipartisan group of senators say they are close on a compromise.
Bipartisan senators believe they may be nearing a proposal to extend expired Obamacare subsidies as Sens. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, lead negotiations.
