Delhi High Court has directed AIIMS to pay stipends only to Indian junior resident doctors, not foreign-national PG trainees. The court said a publicly funded institute must prioritise Indian students supported by taxpayers and serving India’s healthcare system. Foreign trainees come through special diplomatic seats, where it is clearly stated that no stipend will be given.
